Before Your Appointment:
How long should my hair be before a waxing appointment?
For the best waxing results, your hair should be at least 1/4 inch long—roughly the length of a grain of rice. We recommend waiting at least 3 weeks after shaving before booking your wax to ensure optimal hair removal.
Are there any products or medications I should avoid before waxing?
Yes. Certain skincare products and medications can increase skin sensitivity and may not be safe to use before waxing. These include:
- Retin-A / Retinol products
- Accutane (Isotretinoin)
- Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs)
If you’re currently using any of these or have recently stopped, please inform your esthetician before your appointment.
What should I avoid before my waxing appointment?
To prevent irritation, we recommend you:
Do not apply lotions, oils, or moisturizers on the day of your wax
Avoid excess sun exposure or tanning beds
Skip self-tanners
Is Brazilian waxing 100% smooth the first time?
Not always. For first-time Brazilian wax clients, some hair may remain if it’s too short or just below the skin’s surface. With regular waxing, hair grows more evenly and results improve each time.
